The metaverse has continued to attract the attention of many global companies; most recently American Express was reported to have filed seven trademarks related to NFTs and the metaverse. The applications were submitted to register the company’s name, logo, and slogan, including AMEX, SHOP SMALL and MEMBERSHIP REWARDS. This move is said to be alongside Amex’s future plans to provide virtual payments for digital media and NFTs.
