L’Oréal Paris released their first NFT project last year which was centered around female empowerment; the NFTs featured work by five female artists – Amber Vittoria, Arina BB, Hueman, Lili Tae and Puks – who created pieces inspired by L’Oréal’s range of lipsticks. Though the collection wasn’t as well received as predicted (with total sales reaching only around 0.5 ETH as of today), earlier this month, L’Oréal reportedly submitted trademark filings related to NFTs and various categories. Many are suspecting that L’Oréal plans to expand its business into the metaverse with its subsidiaries such as Kiehl’s, Maybelline and Urban Decay.
