The day has finally come! Basketball legend Michael Jordan and his son have launched their NFT series “6 rings”.
The creative concept behind this series is to pay tribute to the six NBA titles that Michael Jordan won during his time with the Chicago Bulls. The collection features a bull’s head matched with different ring colors: red, white, gold, black, silver, and gold.
The project has been released on Solana’s platform HEIR, and owners of the NFTs will receive special token rewards, exclusive passes, and the chance to participate in “huddles” or limited access communities. However, sales have been slow. The original plan was to sell 10,010 units, but sales were not as fast as they expected, so now the project has halved the number of public sales available. Jordan’s son Jeffery says that “[they] will be exploring many ways to thoughtfully bring fans into the community, while always ensuring [they] are honoring [the] founding fans in a unique way.”
Michael Jordan himself is no stranger to NFTs however; Jordan along with Kevin Duran are key investor in Canadian company “Dapper Labs”, which is the startup behind NBA Top Shot and CryptoKitties.
